In
the middle of the cultivations we find S. Eufemia, industrial
and productive center, grown after reclamation of Fascism Age.
Do not miss:
Benedettini Abbey (leftovers): built in 1062, in style with French
abbeys. Leftovers reveal Gothic art and a Byzantine art in finishing.
Collapsed in 1638 debris were buried under 5 meters due to floods.
Malta knights tower: powerful fortification built in 1520 in the
middle of S. Eufemia Gulf to protect the coast against Arabian
pirates. It was the strength point between S. Caterina and Capo
Suvero Towers, linked to Amantea to North and Curinga Mezza Praja
to South. The tower is really close to Benedettini Abbey made
by Roberto il Guiscardo.
Sambiase: keeps its original aspect of rural place, with noble
palaces and antique magnificence.
Place of Memory: you can visit and old rural house with art and
craft of old calabrian life, close to 1000 objects of common life
joined by thematic interest in seven rooms (bedroom, kitchen,
craftsmanship, farm works) and a small library.
Noble Palaces: Cerra Palace
Caronte thermal baths: thermal spring gush out between S. Elia
and Muzzari mountains. Already known during the Roman Age, in
the recent period a thermal bath has been made establishment. |
