Trigna was a reference point for many workers, who wanted to work,
was able to found it. Every type of animal was reared: horses
that grazed along Amato river, cows, ox used to plow the fields,
sheep, ducks and geese conducted to the pasture from duck man.
This is the period of maximum expansion; the Trigna is in microcosm
self-sufficient, swarm of persons, families and children playing
on open air. It is possible, today, to visit the old wine cellar,
the firewood bakery, used for their alimentary requirements. At
that time, we must imagine a village with many families and many
children, even a rural school was instituted here, to make easier
workers to send sons to school. On each Saturday a party was made
with people dancing into the courtyard, often loves bloomed then
consolidated in weddings between the young people of these families.
During the Fascism Age (1922-1943) people from Veneto are sent
in Calabria and near La Ferla farm. At the present some surnames
are still belonging from this origin. |

In
its activity Orazio comes mostly accompanied from Antonino, his
son, who graduated in Agrarian Sciences in 1956, shares with the
parent the responsibility of the company, dedicating itself to
the zootechnical. He constructs, a cowshed for milk cows personally
chosen in Canada and until 1965 works side by side to his father,
although he was ahead in the years and tried from the disease
finishing him in 1969. In recent years, Trigna, begins to slight
fall in rice production both for crisis investing agriculture,
both for hardness to find in native place labor experts.
It’s the 70s , agriculture is in full crisis, costs are
increasing not in proportion to prices of the agricultural products.
In spite of this, production is continued, trying to realize high
quality product, converting it to biological, restructuring buildings,
rendering adapt to farm holiday lodgings. Today, Trigna farm is
proposed as farm holiday residence accommodating in our old-fashioned
rooms with private services and independent entrance on a wide
common courtyard.
Managed directly from the owners, it guarantees a pleasant and
familiar hospitality. You will be able to fully enjoy the serenity
of a “farm way of life”, restore yourself with foot
walk or horse ride to sea and enjoying the splendid Mediterranean
sunsets. |
